This is what I love about tulips. Leave them in a vase for more than a week, and they transform. Their petals fade or darken, their leaves turn pale. They begin to curl and twist and take on new shapes and forms. They become sculptural, almost architectural in their dying days.
A vase of flowers becomes a living artwork as these beautiful ladies change day by day from bud to bloom to fading beauty.
Dancing on, swirling her leaves about her.
As the petals curl and fold inward their colours intensifie, their textures heighten, their shapes reform to make new feasts for the eye ever changing.
These pictures were taken with my husbands camera ~ a Nikon DSLR ~ allowing me to work with this shallow depth of field which is so difficult to achieve with my usual Canon Powershot ‘point and shoot’.
Guess what’s just been added to my shopping list!!
Happy Monday my lovelies, in fact, happy week to you all.
